Work On Your Vocabulary

Number of IELTS candidates find vocabulary a huge challenge. With lack of vocabulary knowledge your speech and writing won’t be impressive. Vocabulary plays a vital role to get a higher band score. It is very interesting and fun part when you go and learn english. Especially in IELTS when you learn new words everyday you feel confident because you know you are going to use these word for the rest of your life.

For Writing and Speaking Modules

Vocabulary helps a lot in writing and speaking tests. To boost up your scores you have to find ways to make your writing and speaking influential. For  example if you see common category topics like, family and friends, environment and pollution, education and career, etc. Now suppose you choose family and friends, for this you can prepare a list of some  words. You could have words like bonding, solicitude, parenting, offsprings, concern, unite, greet, harmony, humble, etc. This preparation helps you to make your writing and speaking even more impressive.

Listening and Reading Modules

In Writing and Speaking where you have to think about vocabulary, on the other hand, Reading and Listening modules actually helps you to make your vocab skills strong. Most importantly, your reading paragraphs are the treasure; not only of vocabulary but for idioms, proverbs, phrases, ideas and even for your own knowledge. You could choose words and phrases from reading passages and make your own list of vocabulary. This is the most helpful way to understand the reading passage better as well as enhance your lexical range. Even your writing topics  sometimes are the ones you have already covered in your reading passages.

Practice

Once you have your  vocabulary lists try to go through that on regular basis. Slowly you will start using these words in your day to day conversation. Not only that you will be able to make  sentences with these words too. So it's actually fun to learn new words and use them in general.
